What trauma-informed means in my practice
Trauma-informed care isn't a technique. It's how I approach every session, with every client.
It means:
-
You're in charge. You decide what we work on, how much pressure feels right, and what stays covered.
-
Nothing is a surprise. I'll explain what I'm doing before I do it, and I'll check in as we go.
-
You can change your mind. Pause, adjust, or stop anytime, for any reason, without explaining.
-
You don't have to share your history. Tell me as much or as little as you want.

You're in control, start to finish
Every part of your session is up to you, and you can change your mind at any point. You can lie face up, face down, or on your side, whichever feels most comfortable. You can stay fully or partly clothed, ask me to skip certain areas, keep the lights a little higher, talk, or stay quiet. If it would help to have a friend, partner, or support person with you, they’re welcome to come along and wait in the waiting room during your session.
If something doesn’t feel right, even if you can’t put it into words, just say “pause.” We’ll figure it out together.
